Assistant Professor Shailendra Joshi in the UH Cullen College of Engineering received a $516,654 CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation to examine recyclable thermoset polymers.
The funding will help enable the design and development of recyclable structural plastics, which could help mitigate better the harmful environmental effects of conventional plastics. He will specifically explore the microstructure of recyclable thermosets, known as vitrimers, which show promise in polymer chemistry.
